Who is Dr. Tony Thomas?
Dr. Tony Thomas was born in Texas. He was raised in San Antonio until he was 13, when his family relocated to Seattle. In 1998, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Washington. He subsequently relocated to New York in 2003 and graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 2007. He is also the owner of Advance Smile Care, a dental clinic that offers a variety of dental services.
What Dr. Tony Thomas Is Known For
Dr. Thomas believes in staying on the cutting edge of dental technology, using it to educate patients and make their visits more comfortable. He devotes his time and energy to learning about new technology and how to use them in practice to benefit patients.
Objectives
His objective has always been to transform people’s perceptions of dentists and to provide a peaceful, comfortable environment for patients. He has been excited to participate in the Advanced Smile Care team since 2019. He aims to turn patients’ negative perceptions of dentistry into more positive ones.
In 2014, he received training in conscious IV sedation from the Department of Dentistry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Medical Center. This has enabled him to care for numerous patients with significant dental phobias, allowing them to meet their oral health needs while restoring their capacity to smile.
Education
He completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. Dr. Thomas had been practicing in the Greater NYC/Long Island area for 15 years, offering complete dental care to patients, particularly those suffering from dental anxiety, before returning to San Antonio in 2018.
His Mission
When he returned to San Antonio, he wanted to establish a dental home where he could continue to help people who were afraid of dental visits. Dr. Thomas is constantly expanding his dentistry knowledge through ongoing education. He completed various seminars and workshops with the Spear Education company and was certified in IV sedation in 2014.
