Periodontist | West Coast

The Challenge

Inconvenient timing created an urgent need for our client. The unexpected departure of a staff Periodontist not only created a need, but it threw into turmoil the retirement plans of other practitioners in this highly visible west coast practice. They first attempted the task on their own. They initially advertised on job board after job board and found the candidates unsatisfactory. It also became a time intensive burden that was simply unmanageable. The clinic became acquainted with the Market Vice President of Arthur, Marshall Inc. who laid out a plan of action which made sense to clinic leadership and AMI was hired for the job.

Our Solution

An initial plan of action was laid out by the Arthur/Marshall Market VP which included selection of the right Recruiting professional within AMI for the job. Arthur/Marshall assigned one of its top consultants for the job who had experience with this type of opportunity.

An on-site visit was scheduled, and the consultant personally met with clinic staff and community professionals to gain a better understanding of the practice and community. A targeted candidate procurement campaign was designed and initiated to target candidates who fit the parameters of the practice. This program utilized AMI’s proprietary “tool kit” of electronic sourcing tools and artificial intelligence techniques to target a very specific candidate population. These techniques are especially useful since the nation-wide candidate pool for Periodontists is so limited.

Multi-Specialty Dental Clinic

The Challenge

An urgent need was created due to the unexpected loss of this clinic’s only Orthodontist. This high profile southwestern dental clinic sought the assistance of its management consultant (Fortune Management) to seek an effective strategy to not just fill the need but to hire the RIGHT candidate for the job.

Our Solution

Fortune Management, one of the nation’s most reputable dental consulting firms, immediately referred the clinic to Arthur/ | Marshall.

The clinic representatives interviewed the Client Services Vice President at Arthur | Marshall to determine fit and comfort with the clinic’s strategic plan. AMI was selected and a recruiter with over 10 years of experience was assigned to the search.

The recruiter immediately initiated a strategic recruitment plan which included a personal visit to the community and clinic, a multi-layered procurement and selection campaign, candidate screening and ultimately a guided interview process. Arthur/Marshall was notified that “time was of the essence” on this search.

Arthur | Marshall immediately began the detailed process of searching for motivated, qualified candidates who fit the parameters of the search assignment. Candidates were screened, due diligence was performed and ultimately a candidate was selected to interview for the position.

A methodical but swift interview process was arranged, and a thoughtful decision was made by clinic leadership to hire the candidate, accomplishing the task in under 60 days.

Oral surgery

The Challenge

Serve as the recruiting arm of this highly successful Oral Surgery clinic in identifying, screening and ultimately hiring Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeons. To quote our client: “Oral surgeons are notoriously difficult to hire, owing to the low numbers of available qualified candidates…” With this in mind, the clinic interviewed Arthur/Marshall among others to determine the best partner to tackle the job of Recruitment. After consideration, Arthur/Marshall was hired for the job.

Our Solution

The Director of SE Recruiting at Arthur | Marshall immediately arranged for an on-site visit to the community. This visit consisted of personal interviews with all clinic employees and staff to develop a recruitment plan and to identify potential roadblocks to success. Personal tours of the clinic, surgery center and community were arranged and ultimately a success plan was developed and initiated.

The recruitment plan began with a successful procurement campaign. Job ads were quickly made on all relevant web sites and an aggressive electronic mailing/Ai campaign was initiated to the over 9,000 prospects in the U.S. In addition, regional telephone sweeps were made by AMI researchers and a sophisticated data-mining program was initiated to target the right candidates who fit the profile requested by our client.

All of these efforts culminated in a small list of motivated candidates and further narrowed to include our target candidate. The interview was organized by AMI and conducted by our client.

Dental Support Organization (DSO)

The Challenge

To assist this fast-growing DSO in its pursuit to effectively manage its growth and to further reach its market potential. This partnership sought to specifically grow the organization of Dental providers and to service communities and draw areas of influence.

Our Solution

This client partner of AMI identified the need to effectively manage the growth of its DSO and began the process of interviewing prospective partners to take over the process of recruitment. The team interviewed several prospective firms, but most appeared to be either too small for this project or lacked the professionalism and tenure required to understand the task at hand. Finally, a meeting was held with the AMI Market Vice President. After extensive conversations and a thorough vetting of AMI, the team decided to partner with AMI and begin our first search together.

We found it interesting that our Recruiter had a vast knowledge of our industry and brought over 15 years of experience to our search process.
