A growing animal hospital in Scituate, Rhode Island, is seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to provide exceptional care to small animals, including cats, dogs, and various exotic pets such as rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, and gerbils.

Position Details:
- Role: Associate Veterinarian
- Location: Scituate, Rhode Island (must be licensed or able to obtain a license before starting)
- Type: Full-Time or Part-Time positions available
- Experience: Open to new graduates and internationally trained veterinarians
- Certification: No board certification required
- Environment: Collaborative, team-oriented with mentorship opportunities
- Case Variety: Cats, dogs, and small animals (expandable based on special interests)

Practice Overview:
- Facility: 4 exam rooms, 3 treatment tables, 1 sterile OR suite
- Team: 2 full-time veterinarians, 1 relief vet, 8 technicians, 7 receptionists, 1 hospital administrator, 1 full-time surgical technician
- In-House Lab: Chemistry and CBC
- Pharmacy: Well-stocked with supplies
- Equipment: Digital X-ray, dental X-ray, Sevoflurane anesthesia, monitoring equipment, 2 autoclaves, adjustable exam tables, potential for future upgrades (U/S and endoscopy)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-Time: $1,000/day
- Full-Time: $160,000/year base salary + 22% production bonus (paid quarterly)
- Benefits Package: Health and dental insurance, malpractice insurance (AVMA, PLIT), up to 4 weeks of vacation, $3,000/year CME allowance + 24 hours for CME, retirement savings options
Schedule:
- Full-Time: 4 days per week, Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm
- Saturdays: Rotating every 3rd week, half-day (8 am-1 pm)
- Daily Encounters: 16-20 patients with 15-minute appointment blocks; 4-6 surgical procedures per day
